AHRA Exchange Visit in Kuala Lumpur – Fostering Regional Collaboration
From October 30th to November 4th, 2023, AHRA hosted an exchange visit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, aimed at enhancing harm reduction efforts in Southeast Asia. This visit was part of our “Learning Together, Adapt, and Adopt” strategy, which focuses on empowering the AHRA Country Liaison Trainers (CLT) Team with the knowledge and tools needed to improve harm reduction support and policy advocacy.
The visit was divided into two main parts: enhancing the service delivery capacity of the CLT Team and developing tailored harm reduction policy advocacy plans for their respective countries. Participants engaged in discussions, workshops, site visits, and open dialogues, fostering meaningful inter-agency support and synergy. The exchange visit brought together key organizations, including the International Drug Policy Consortium, Harm Reduction International, Network of Asian People who Use Drugs (NAPUD), and the Malaysian AIDS Council.
